Alan leads the firm's Spanish property and conveyancing practice and acts for buyers, sellers, and developers before notaries and the Land Registry across the Costa del Sol. Much of his work is unglamorous and decisive: title searches, community debt certificates, and completion decisions made under a thirty-day deadline.

Originally from the UK, he also practises English law, advising British clients on the cross-border aspects of their affairs — succession, tax residency, and the recognition of UK instruments in Spain. The two systems rarely meet cleanly, and much of the value lies in knowing where they don't.

He also maintains a private client practice, concentrated on international estates where jurisdiction is contested and heirs move between countries. The two areas have more in common than people expect — both turn on what was recorded, and when.

He also handles regulatory investigations, advising individuals and companies under inquiry by Spanish authorities and professional bodies, where the early stages often decide the outcome. The work rewards the same instinct as his conveyancing: read the file before anyone else does.

He serves as external adviser to two expat associations and writes the firm's Spanish legal update for clients.

Marcel co-founded the firm in 1998 after eight years in the Brussels office of an international practice, where he had grown tired of watching cross-border matters passed between offices that never spoke to each other. He leads the corporate team and has been managing partner since 2014.

Most of his work is transactional: acquisitions of Belgian and Dutch groups, shareholder reorganisations in family businesses, and the joint ventures that follow. Clients tend to come back to him at the difficult moments — a deadlock between siblings, an earn-out that has gone wrong — because he is direct about what the documents actually allow.

He sits on the firm's professional standards committee and lectures occasionally on corporate governance at KU Leuven.

Alessandro heads the disputes practice and opened the Milan office in 2009. He appears regularly before the Milan commercial courts and sits as counsel in ICC and CEPANI arbitrations, mostly in construction, distribution and post-acquisition warranty claims.

He is known among clients for a blunt first assessment. A written view on prospects and cost arrives early, and if a case is not worth running he says so at the start rather than after two years of fees.

Alongside disputes he handles Italian real estate work for international owners, from Milanese office buildings to lake properties held through Luxembourg structures.

Sander advises employers on the whole employment lifecycle, with a particular concentration in multi-country restructuring. He has run consultation processes involving Dutch works councils, Belgian information and consultation procedures and Italian union negotiations on the same timetable, which is as difficult as it sounds.

He also leads the firm's immigration practice, working with HR teams relocating engineers and executives into the Netherlands and Belgium. His clients value that he answers permit questions with dates rather than possibilities.

Before joining the firm in 2011 he practised in Amsterdam and spent two years in-house at a logistics group.

Lukas handles holding and financing structures out of Luxembourg, and much of the procedural work on cross-border mergers and conversions under the EU mobility rules. He has a particular tolerance for the filings and notarial sequencing that make those transactions work.

He qualified first in Germany and moved to Luxembourg in 2015, and acts for German and Austrian groups investing into Benelux and Italy.

He is the person clients call when a completion timetable has slipped and something must still be filed this week.

Noor works across the employment and data protection teams, which in practice means a great deal of workplace investigation work: harassment complaints, monitoring questions and the privacy constraints on both.

She drafts the firm's Dutch contract and handbook templates and handles settlement negotiations and UWV proceedings for employer clients.

She joined the firm as a trainee in 2020 and qualified in Amsterdam.
